How to Write an About Me Page

Writing an about me page is an important step in setting up your blog or website. It's one of the first things people see when they land on your blog.

Your about page should explain who you are, what you do, and what your blog is all about. It should sum up what one can expect from your blog.
Most new readers will go to your about me page before any other page. This is where many readers will decide weather or not they want to keep reading your blog.

What should an about me page include?

Photo- Most people want to see the person behind the blog. It helps them connect on more personal level.

Introduction- Introduce yourself but keep it short and sweet.
You can also include any experience you have on the topic you are writing about, why you're an authority in your niche, or anything else you find relevant.

Blog Overview- This is where you can share your elevator pitch or your short explanation of what your blog is all about. Mention your niche (if you have one).

Contact Information- Make sure your email address is in a prominent spot. If you are worried about privacy you can create a separate email address for your blog. You can also include your Facebook page, Twitter or other places you blog or write.

Other Tips
  • Keep it short and to the point.
  • Do you want to be contacted by PR and marketing people? Let them know.
If you have a special sponsor information page, direct them to it.
Here are some fun and unique about me page examples.

Keep in mind this is just my opinion of what I like and expect in an about me page.
What do you look for in an about me page?
