I, too, am always reading. I recently finished Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall, Denver Moore, and Lynn Vincent. It is a true story and it will really stir something inside you about the homeless. What better time of year than now to read something so inspiring? :) It changed me. I'll tell you that. If you have children and haven't read them The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey by Susan Wojciechowski. It was made into a movie in 2007 and starred Tom Berenger. Wonderful story about a little boy and a nativity scene. The book's illustrations are incredible! A Small Miracle by Peter Collington is a wonderful picture book with no words for children too young to read. It's fun to let them make up the story from the pictures in the book. -Karen
I wish I read as fast as you! I am slowly but surely reading Catch-22, & my boyfriend & I are reading Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows aloud at bedtime each night. I recently read Chocolat, which was - it has to be said - delicious. Next, I think I'll read The Golden Compass, as my whole family swears by it & I've yet to read it.
I've also read The Scent of Rain and Lightning and enjoyed it. I can't wait to see how they adapted Water for Elephants for the movies -- I really enjoyed that book! I'm currently reading James Patterson's Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, but I'm only on, like, page 22!
Thanks for the suggestions! I am always looking for new books. Have you read Peace Like a River or Water for Elephants?

ReplyDeleteI just finished Glass Castle. It came highly recommended and I must say, it was riveting.
