My Latest Reading List

I finished reading.

I absolutely loved this book! I try not to buy books (I use to have a big book buying problem) but after I finished reading gifts from the sea I had to buy it. This book was able to sum up and explain so many things I having been thinking but haven't been able to form into words. 


I am almost finished reading.

I have been reading grapes of wrath for what seems like forever. It has been painfully slow.

Despicable Me Treats

We are big fans of  Despicable Me at our house. I think it would be fun to have a little Despicable Me party, especially with these cute minion cupcakes from  Emilie Handmade.

I also love these little fondant minions from The Party Animal.

 

Brody's Chopper Suit

I just have to show off some of the details on Brody's Easter suit.
I love the classic herringbone fabric and the double pleated pants. 

Brody's grandma Beth made the suit for him. It's amazing right?
There were 27 pattern pieces for the jacket. I don't even want to think about how many pieces she cut with the fabric, the lining and the interfacing.

The jacket was even personalized for him with a little chopper (Brody's middle name is Chopper) and now Brody calls it his chopper suit.

 Thanks Beth for making this awesome suit for Brody! He is lucky to have such a great grandma.

A while ago I mentioned I had compiled a list of 1980's movies. I am going to watch every single one of them too. Of course this list doesn't have every movie from the 80's just what I consider the classics.

I Love Pinterest

I recently just joined Pinterest (thanks for the invitation Becky) and I love it!

For those of you that don't know about Pinterest, it's like a virtual pin board. 

It's a place to collect, store and share all kinds of things- party ideas, crafts, recipes, products, you name it.

Before Pinterest I had this silly method of cataloging ideas I found on the internet. I would save the link to my favorites and then I would save the picture to my computer. The links and picture files became bigger and bigger and there was no organization to them. They were a mess!

With Pinterest I can store all those ideas in one place and organize them into collections. I'm in love.

It's Just Another Stylin' Sunday

The Last Few Days

Brody has been sick! The poor boy is either crying or wanting to snuggle on my lap. Needless to say, we have been watching a lot of movies.

During one of Brody's naps I was able to cut out a lot of red felt circles for an up coming project.
More on that later.

I have been craving sweets like crazy lately. I think it all started when Travis wanted cookie dough for dinner. Now all I can think about is cookie dough, sugar cookies, cupcakes, butter cream frosting, ice cream and other things of that nature. It's probably a good thing I don't have many sweets in my house right now.

Spring softball started earlier this week. Brody loved watching daddy play "hit ball".

JS Designs Giveaway

It's Just Another Stylin' Sunday

We borrowed  Brody's little suit from my sister, her boys wore it when they were little.
His peter pan collar shirt is from Four and Twenty Sailors. I love their classic children's clothing.
The shoes we borrowed from my brother, his boys wore them when they were little.

4th Blog Anniversary!

Today is my 4th blog anniversary!

Frigidaire Review

I was contacted a couple of months ago by Frigidaire to try out some of their products.
I knew that Frigidaire sold kitchen and laundry appliances but I didn't know about the other products they carry.
Did you know they sell cooking tools, cutlery, grilling accessories and more?

I got the chance to try out the Frigidaire melamine bowl set and griddle.
The melamine bowl set has quickly become my favorite mixing bowls and I use them daily. I am huge fan of melamine, especially when Brody wants to help me cook. I don't have to worry about him breaking them.

Last Sunday we decided to try out the griddle by making pancakes and bacon. The griddle was easy to use, we set it over two burners on our stove top and were ready to cook. The cleanup was super easy too.
I can't wait cook up our next breakfast!
